Description
A round bar is a solid steel bar with a smooth, circular cross-section; a square bar is the same in square form. Unlike ribbed reinforcing bar, their surfaces are plain, which makes them easy to shape in fabrication.
They are used for pickets and decorative elements in ornamental gates and railings, window bars, anchors and studs, and parts for machinery and farm equipment. Square bar is a favourite for decorative ironwork, where it is twisted and forged into shape.
We keep round and square bars in a range of sizes in the same stock area as our flat bars and angles. Metalwork and fabrication shops can source all the sections they need in one order, wholesale or retail.
